BHARAT NIRMAN PROGRAMME
Goalpara, October 12, 2006
The Directorate of Field Publicity, Barpeta Unit, in association with
“Janapriya”, an NGO of Goalpara organized a day-long programme on
Bharat Nirman on October 11, 2006 at Hadi Muslim L.P. School, Paikan
under Krishnai Block of Goalpara district. A public meeting was held
on the occasion which was presided over by Abdul Jalil, a social
worker of the area. As a resource person, Dr. Mukund Mohan Sarma of
Krishnai PHC explained the schemes of National Rural Health Mission
and Rural Child Health. In his speech, Shri Imanul Haque Mondol,
Advisor, Janapriya, spoke on Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and Right to
Information Act.
Rural Sports, photo exhibition and film shows were also organized on
the day and prizes were distributed among the winner of the sports.
Earlier, Shri J. Kalita, Field Publicity Officer, i/c Barpeta unit
explained the aims and objectives of the programme.

PUBLIC INFORMATION CAMPAIGN ON BHARAT NIRMAN

As part of Bharat Nirman Campaign about flagship programmes of
Central Government at Goalpara, the Field Publicity Unit of Nagaon, in
coordination with ‘ASHIRBAD’, an NGO of Ambari under Khormuja
Development Block, Goalpara organized a Healthy Baby Show where 250
babies participated. Among them 4 babies were selected as best babies
and prizes were given away.
A public meeting was also organized on the occasion which was presided
over by Shri Bodir Uddin Mullah, a leader of the area. In his speech,
Dr. Abdusamad of Dohila State Dispensary who was a resource person,
emphasized the need for immunization of children to save their life
from killer diseases. Shri Abdul Awal, CRC, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan
explained the aims and objectives of the SSA. He appealed to all to
send the children to school for regular education.
Earlier, Shri Bijay Krishna Paul, Field Publicity Officer, explained
the aims and objectives of the meeting.

GOALPARA ACHIEVES 85% RECOVERY RATE UNDER DRDA LOAN
Goalpara, October 12, 2006.
In tune with the Bharat Nirman Campaign, a flagship programme of the
Central Government, the district administration of Goalpara has
achieved over 85 per cent recovery rate of DRDA loans given to a wide
range of self-help groups (SHGs) in the district during the current
financial year. This was stated by Shri K.K. Bora, Project Director,
DRDA, Goalpara today.
Addressing a technical session on Bharat Nirman Campaign and modified
Mid-Day Meal scheme at DICC field here, Shri Bora said that his
district has made a landmark in implementing the rural development
schemes like National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National
Rural Health Mission, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and modified Mid-Day Meal
scheme.
“There is no scarcity of fund in the health department of the district
to implement the above mentioned rural development schemes”, he added.
The district has already received Rs.25.37 crore and released Rs.20
crore under NREGA programme.
Participating as the Chief Guest, Shri Abdul Rashid Mondol termed the
Mid-Day Meal scheme as the world’s biggest scheme which covers 12
crore students studying in 9.5 lakh schools in India.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Shri Satya Priya Brahma
Patgiri, District Mission Coordinator, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Goalpara
district and Shri Amzad Hussain, President, Goalpara Zilla Parishad.
Summering the aims and objectives of the Public Information Campaign
(PIC) in Goalpara, Shri Hassanudding Ahmed, who presided over the
technical session, said that rural masses should avail the benefits of
Mid-Day Meal scheme.
Earlier, Shri B. Narzary, Dy. Director General (M&C), Press
Information Bureau, Govt. of India, Guwahati welcomed the resource
persons and all to the PIC meeting.
